RBnano,
partner of the Rh(e)in-Solar INTERREG IV Upper Rhine project

RBnano is
part of the
interregional Rh(e)in-Solar project, which gathers 14 partners of the
Upper
Rhine among which research centers, universities and companies in
Strasbourg,
Mulhouse, Basel, Freiburg and Karlsruhe, working on the development of
organic
solar cells..
With the
future
scarcity of fossil energy, renewable energies as photovoltaics became a
worldwide economic issue. The current silicon based technology will
have to be
replaced by easier, more efficient and less costly technologies. One of
the
biggest industrial issues of the 21st century will be to master the
development
of organic solar cells.
RBnano has
taken it
upon itself to develop transparent electrodes to replace ITO, indium
tin oxide,
which shortage is expected in the next ten years. RBnano innovates and
develops
new transparent conductive oxides using its mineralizable inks, which
are
deposited by liquid on transparent glass or plastic, avoiding onerous
techniques as PVD or PECVD.
